I’m a home baker, originally from Detroit, Michigan. I currently reside in the metro D.C. region, where I work full-time in nonprofit communications. My love of food started in childhood, but I was mostly just the helper who taste-tested. I started (seriously) baking during my final year in graduate school in 2017. I needed some other outlet that didn’t involve working or studying, so baking cakes was a great (and very delicious!) diversion.
As a person with no formal baking experience, I’m still learning new things every single day about baking and I’ve had my share of mishaps in the kitchen. However, they’ve all helped me become more comfortable in the kitchen and fuel my creativity. I’m always trying to find new flavor pairings or add a fun twist to some of my all-time favorite desserts.
